Ezekiel 36:9 NLT
A press release coming soon on this exciting announcement! This program helps address chronic health complications such as unhealthy weight, diabetes and heart disease by supporting programs that help increase active lifestyle wellness and nutrition. Local coalitions involve leaders from a wide spectrum of community organizations in developing ways to engage residents in improving their community's health.
Healthy People, Healthy Carolinas is active in 10 S.C. counties. The initiative began in early 2016. Research shows that South Carolina ranks 42nd among all states when it comes to the overall health of its residents, earning poor rankings for its obesity and physical inactivity rates. Healthy People, Healthy Carolinas recognizes that health and well-being are created and sustained not just through individual and clinical efforts, but through the cooperation and support of the extended local community.

A great success with participants gathering in a packed fellowship hall from across the county and region with supporting organizations attending that included the Allendale County Hospital, Low Country Health Care Systems, the Fairfax Lutheran Parish, Allendale County HEALing Partners and hosting body of faith, Simpson United Methodist Church.
The purpose of this gathering was to address the mind, body and soul with emphasis on our spiritual, physical and emotional fitness. The event, organized by Lottie Lewis, serving as the Director of Diversity at her church, highlighted the love that God has mandated for us to share with each other. We were reminded to be mindful that our bodies are God‘s temples. It's hard to 'do good' loving and serving the needs of others, if we don't 'feel good,' emphasizing the importance of feeling good, to do good. The event gathered us around a common and unified table to address the whole person, of both ourselves and our neighbor asking us, "If your table could talk what would it say about you?" Lottie inspired all of us in attendance through passionate speakers and closed sharing, "Let's make sure that when we are serving our community that love is on the menu, and remember this, if you ever come to a table and there’s no room, no seat or place for you, 'make one'!"
gathering around a common table, to let love lead our way forward
